This fixture has been thrilling in recent encounters, with the last two meetings between the sides decided by a field goal in golden point, both won by Canberra.
Sunday's match is likely to deliver once again, with both the Dolphins and the Raiders coming into the contest in impressive form, each riding a three-game winning streak.
Dolphins veteran playmaker Kodi Nikorima knows that the upcoming trip to Canberra presents yet another challenge for his side, after victory over the high-flying Melbourne Storm last week.
"It’s important that we get our preparation right," Nikorima said.
"If we deliver another 80-minute performance like we did last week, we’ll give ourselves every chance."
Sunday’s match will undoubtedly be another significant test for the Dolphins as they face a Raiders team that is currently sitting in the top three.
The outcome could significantly impact the competition ladder, with a victory for the Dolphins, along with a few favourable results elsewhere, potentially seeing them break into the top eight for the first time this season.
Team Changes
The Dolphins will be without Vice-Captain Felise Kaufusi due to a knee injury picked up in last week's victory over the Storm. Frank Molo will make his club debut in Kaufusi's absence, making the only change to the side from last round. Max Plath has been cleared of any major injury and is named at hooker.
The Raiders have made no changes to their side that beat the Titans in round 7.
Clash of the week
This round, the spotlight shines on two in-form props, "Big Freaky" and "Big Red", Josh Kerr and Corey Horsburgh. Both Dolphins juniors have lit up the NRL in recent weeks, helping lead their respective teams to three straight victories.

Despite starting on the interchange, Kerr has proven to be a handful for defences, making a real impact when he has entered the game. With a try, a try assist and nine tackle breaks in the last three weeks, Kerr's short-yardage power around the ruck has been a game-changer for the Dolphins.
Receiving the ball back from his earlier offload to power over the line to score with three defenders clinging to him in his milestone 100th NRL appearance shows what "Big Freaky" is capable of in big moments.
Horsburgh is a player who invites contact, relishes it, and thrives in the middle of the park. Across seven games so far this season, Horsburgh has averaged 134 run metres and 53 post-contact metres.
The Raiders will undoubtedly rely on "Big Red" to test the Dolphins' defence, lay the foundation for strong field position, and open up the field for his teammates.
