Prop Daniel Saifiti says the next instalment of the Battle for Brisbane has come at the perfect time with the Dolphins hosting the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

With the team searching for their first win of the season, Saifiti believes the rivalry between the two sides is ideal for sparking a turnaround.

“This game has come at the perfect time. The Battle of Brisbane. Not many people are giving us a chance," Saifiti told the media this week.

“We know it's going to be a hard task, but we've spoken about just taking it day by day.

"We had a good training session, and I think it'll put us in good stead for Friday night."

The Dolphins’ forward pack will face a massive test against the Broncos, led by International duo Payne Haas and Patrick Carrigan.

Saifiti welcomes the challenge however, drawing attention to the need for his team to bring intensity and physicality for the full 80 minutes.

You know, it's all love, but for that 80 minutes, we'll be trying to lead our teams

“They are a tough team, they're tipped to be one of the top teams as well.

"We've just got to focus on ourselves, get ourselves right and do the best job that we can do.”
