Both teams faced closely contested matches in Round 1, with the Knights narrowly defeating the Tigers by two points, while the Dolphins fell short against the Rabbitohs by two points. Despite these different outcomes, both teams will be aiming to improve their performance from the opening round.

The Knights and Dolphins each had more errors and a lower completion rate than their Round 1 opponents, highlighting a crucial area for improvement as they prepare for this match.

Team Changes:

The Dolphins will be without second rowers Kulikefu Finefeuiaki (concussion protocol) and Connelly Lemuelu (eye), both ruled out after injury in round one. Kodi Nikorima and Mark Nicholls will return to the side, having been unavailable for the side's round one match. Nikorima will join the starting side at five-eighth, with Nicholls named to the bench. Oryn Keeley will start in the second row, lining up against his former club, having debuted for the Knights in 2022.

The Knights have made one change to their round one side, with Adam Elliott named to the bench and Brodie Jones shifting to 18th man.

Clash of the Week - Saifiti v Saifiti

With the Dolphins' marquee signing of Daniel Saifiti before the 2025 season, this Thursday's match has taken on an exciting new dimension, turning it into a true family affair. For the first time in their NRL careers, identical twin brothers Daniel and Jacob Saifiti will face off against each other. Rugby league fans have not seen twin siblings lining up on opposite sides since the Morris brothers, which adds an intriguing element to this thrilling encounter.

Both brothers have been named to start as props, donning the number 8 jersey for their respective teams, setting the stage for a fierce battle in the middle. Known for their powerful ball running, spectators will eagerly anticipate the moment they meet on the field.

Head-to-Head Stats

Thursday night's clash will be the fifth meeting between the Dolphins and the Knights since the Dolphins' entry into the NRL. The Dolphins claimed victory in their inaugural encounter, but the Knights have since had the upper hand, winning the last three matchups.

The head-to-head record is evenly split at McDonald Jones Stadium, with both teams securing one win each. The most recent meeting at the venue saw the Knights emerge victorious in Round 27 last season.

Adding to the occasion, this match will be a milestone moment for the Dolphins as they run out for their 50th NRL game.
