Dolphins' second rower Connelly Lemuelu will miss up to four weeks of play after suffering a facial injury last week against the Rabbitohs.
Scans revealed Lemuelu sustained a fractured eye socket in an on-field clash.
The nature of the injury forced the Samoan international to travel back to Brisbane by car because of risks associated with flying.
However, his recovery should go smoothly.
"In good news, Connelly will not require surgery on his eye socket," said Dolphins' Head of Performance Jeremy Hickmans.
"This is a positive as it brings the timeline for his return to the field down to around the four-week mark."
The Dolphins have lost another back rower for Thursday night's match against the Knights.
Kulikefu Finefeuiaki failed a HIA in the match against the Rabbitohs and is currently in head injury protocol.
He should be fit to play in the Dolphins' first home game of the year against the Wests Tigers at Kayo Stadium on March 22.
