Kaufusi charge downgraded at judiciary

The Dolphins have successfully had Felise Kaufusi's charge downgraded at the judiciary tonight leaving him free to play in this Sunday's do-or-die clash with the Knights.

Kaufusi will now receive a fine for the dangerous contact charge but most importantly take his place on Sunday in Newcastle.

Original story:

The Dolphins will head to Sydney to challenge the grading of a charge levelled against Felise Kaufusi.

Kaufusi was hit with a grade two dangerous contact charge for a collision with Broncos' half Adam Reynolds in 17th minute of the Dolphins' 40-6 victory on Saturday.

An early guilty plea would have secured him a two-match suspension.

However the Dolphins will risk a three-week ban in an attempt to get the charge reduced to a grade-one offence.

That would leave Kaufusi with a fine only and allow him play in Sunday's match against the Knights in Newcastle.

The winner of the game will earn eighth spot on the ladder and a place in the NRL Finals.
