Kenny Bromwich will make his 250th NRL appearance this Thursday night when he takes the field at Kayo Stadium in front of a sold-out crowd.
The occasion marks a significant milestone in Bromwich's illustrious career, making him the 151st NRL player to reach this achievement. Bromwich joins a distinguished list of rugby league giants, including his brother and current Dolphins captain, Jesse Bromwich.
When asked about the prospect of playing his milestone game alongside his brother, Kenny remarked, "It’s awesome… To do that sort of stuff together, it’s pretty cool."
Kenny's journey began with the Manurewa Marlins in Auckland, where he played junior football before joining the Melbourne Storm development system. After making his NRL debut for the Storm in 2013, he has since built a successful career, including two NRL premierships and 15 international caps for New Zealand.
Along with his brother, Kenny joined the Dolphins in 2023 to be a part of the inaugural team, taking the field in the Dolphin's first-ever NRL match.
Reflecting on his career so far, Kenny expressed pride in reaching the milestone, admitting that he "never thought he would chalk up 100 games" let alone reach 250.
Despite the milestone's personal significance, Kenny's humility shines through as he remains focused on the team's success.
I’ll be happy with the win, and then I’ll probably reflect on those milestone games later.
True to his professional nature, Kenny quickly deflects any fanfare around his own accomplishments, emphasising the team's objectives instead.
As Kenny prepares for this historic game, fans and teammates alike celebrate his unwavering dedication and the remarkable journey that has brought him to this momentous point in his career.
