Earlier this month, at the Round 10 match against the Sea Eagles, one lucky Dolphins fan walked away with just over $8,900 after purchasing a ticket in the 50-50 Charity Raffle.
"I was really shocked to win… I don’t really win anything often; I am sure people say that all the time”, remarked Sarah, the winning ticket holder.
Ecstatic about the results, she also added, “Tomorrow we are holding a fundraiser for a staff member who recently lost her mum… I will donate a portion to the fundraiser."
Welcoming Australia was the charity partner for the match, joining the Dolphins at Suncorp stadium to raise an impressive total of $17,227.
Welcoming Australia is committed to building a future where people from all walks of life have equal opportunities to belong, contribute, and prosper.
It champions the cause of exploited, marginalised, and minority communities in Australia and advocates for diversity, multiculturalism, and social harmony.
The funds raised on the day will play a crucial role in supporting Welcoming Clubs, Welcoming Australia’s overarching initiative for programs that embrace the power of sport and recreation as a vehicle for inclusion, opportunity and belonging for all members of the community.
For the Dolphins' round 13 match against the Raiders this weekend at Kayo Stadium, Surf Lifesaving Queensland will be the 50-50 Charity Raffle partner.
Funds will go to help their Little Life Savers program, adding to a partnership that has seen the delivery of water safety clinics all over Queensland’s coast.
