Letter from the CEO - 2024 starts now

To Our Phin Fans,

What a year. Our inaugural NRL season is in the history books, and we hope to have done you proud. Some of you have been waiting 75 years to see the Dolphins in the NRL and it’s still surreal to believe we are finally here.

The support we have received has been nothing short of overwhelming. We started the year with zero Members and over 30,000 of you decided to join the Phin Fam. You are part of a group who will look back in years to come knowing you are part of something special, being on board from year one.

Your support has been on full display this year with the multiple sell-out crowds, while averaging an attendance of over 32,000 at Suncorp Stadium, which is no small feat.

Right from that opening game when we knocked off the Roosters with Felise claiming the Arthur Legacy Medal for best on ground, our club was on its way. It was a game that had everything. The sea of red formed by over 32,000 packed into Suncorp Stadium, the Dolphins chants, the Hammer scoring our club’s first try, the birth of the #PhinsUp movement, our team fighting back after being 12–0 down early, and the sheer emotion at full-time when we had defeated one of the premiership favourites. A great day that turned out to be unforgettable.

Last week on Thursday night we held our inaugural Dolphins presentation ball where we celebrated the great contributions of those within the club on and off the field this year. One of the awards up for grabs was the prestigious Arthur Beetson Medal for Dolphins Player of the Year. We couldn’t have been prouder to announce Jamayne Isaako as the recipient following his incredible achievements this season as the NRL lead try and points scorer. The first player to achieve this feat since Mal Meninga in 1990.

Many in the media wrote off Jamayne and our club before the season had even begun. Those who claimed to know said we wouldn’t win a game, we wouldn’t fill Suncorp Stadium, but the people who really count, the Members & fans, came in their droves and proved to make all the difference.

The job is not yet done. Rest assured; we will continue to be relentless in our pursuit to reach new heights on and off the pitch. In 2024, there will still be plenty who continue to write us off. But that’s just how we like it.

Whether you attended a Dolphins game or watched us from home, you now know what we’re all about. We play with our hearts on our sleeves, and we will not give up until the final whistle. A team you can always be proud of.

Herbie Farnworth, Thomas Flegler and Jake Averillo have joined us for 2024 and it’s now your turn to take the next step and join the Phin Fam. Register your interest in membership by clicking here and one of our team will call you to take care of the details once 2024 packages go on sale.

We created history together in 2023, however our story is only just getting started. Get ready to ride the wave with us in year two.

#PhinsUp
