Kerr to make Dolphins debut

Felise Kaufusi is back in the NRL while Josh Kerr will live his Dolphins’ dream immediately.

Kaufusi was today named to start in the second row against the Eels on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

He played in the Queensland Cup for the Redcliffe Dolphins last weekend to gain some match fitness.

But it is now back to the top level for Kaufusi after completing a three-week suspension.

He will partner Kenny Bromwich in the second row, with Connelly Lemuelu to play from the bench.

Meanwhile, Kerr will make a lifelong dream come true when he plays NRL for the Dolphins after his mid-season switch from the Dragons.

Kerr began playing for the Redcliffe Dolphins at age 10 and played all the way through to the under-20s grade.

He was forced to head to Sydney to realise his NRL aspirations, but now will earn an NRL player number with the ‘Phins.

Brenko Lee (leg) is out, with Valynce Te Whare to start in the centres again.

The Dolphins will get another debutant with Brayden McGrady named on the wing in place of Tesi Niu.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has been slated to back up from tomorrow night’s return State of Origin match in Sydney, while Sean O’Sullivan’s name is on the team sheet for the first time since March.

O’Sullivan may still be a week short of proving his fitness to return from a torn pectoral muscle, but has been named in jersey number 19.
